Meet the principal engineer
Charles Xia, P.Eng. — Principal, YX Engineering Ltd.
Charles started YX Engineering to do MEP engineering the way he'd want it done as a client: one engineer, start to finish, reachable directly. He leads the design team for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for restaurants, commercial fit-ups and residential buildings across Nova Scotia, and works with national brands on store fit-ups in other provinces.
11 years in engineering practice — 6 in Canada, 5 internationally.
Engineers, by design
YX is deliberately small. There's no assistant between you and the person sealing your drawings, and nothing gets lost in a handoff. Need more capacity? We bring in trusted partner engineers — you still deal with one person.
Expanding outside Nova Scotia?
Most of our work is here at home. But if your next location is in Ontario, BC or Alberta, you don't have to start over with a new engineer — we're licensed there too, and work with partner engineers wherever else you open.
