YX Engineering provided engineering services for the renovation of Booza Emessa Ice Cream, one of Halifax's most distinctive specialty dessert destinations. Working against a compressed timeline to meet the client's pre-holiday opening target, our scope included floor plans with an accessible washroom per CSA B651, a new commercial kitchen, and a full plumbing redesign including grease trap sizing to meet municipal requirements and satisfy plan review. With the commercial kitchen now in place, Booza Emessa produces its desserts in-house — and has since grown into one of Halifax's most beloved ice cream and dessert shops. Despite a tight schedule and constrained budget, the project was delivered successfully and on time, setting the stage for the business to thrive.
