YX Engineering was responsible for the kitchen design at this downtown Halifax shelter, along with all liaison with the authorities — including preparation of the engineering package, the permit application, and coordination of inspections. On the technical side, we designed the kitchen hood, ventilation, and fire protection systems, and handled the plumbing scope, including water supply and drainage and the selection and installation of the grease trap — ensuring all facilities comply with the local building code.
